How Swedish risk education works
Risk education (riskutbildning) is mandatory for a category B licence and has two parts. You can do them in any order, but both must be completed before you take the theory test and the driving test.
Risk 1, theory
About 3.5 hours excluding breaks, on alcohol, drugs, fatigue and risky behaviour in traffic. No prior knowledge required. Coffee on us.
Risk 2, skid pan
About 3–4 hours excluding breaks, driving our automatic cars: skidding, emergency braking and sudden obstacles. You drive on your own, so you should be near the end of your training.
Passed and reported
You pass by taking part in the whole session and reaching all the course goals. We report directly to the Swedish Transport Agency, and the course is valid until you get your licence, at most five years.

Car provided
You drive our modern automatic cars fitted with skid systems on a newly paved track. You may drive an automatic here even if your test is in a manual car.
No learner permit
You do not need a Swedish learner permit (körkortstillstånd) for Risk 1 or Risk 2, just valid photo ID. For Risk 2 you do need good driving experience.
Close to Gothenburg
We are in Landvetter, Härryda, between Gothenburg and Borås. Take bus 300 from Gothenburg and we pick you up at the stop Stora Övattnet. Parking on site if you drive.

Landvetter Halkbana is a traffic training facility in Härryda that opened in 2024. The track is newly paved, you drive our modern automatic cars, and the whole course is taught in English.

What most people ask before booking. All questions and answers
Do I need a learner permit (körkortstillstånd) to attend?
No. You do not need a learner permit for either part. For Risk 2 you do need good driving experience, since you drive on your own.
How long is the course valid?
Until the day you get your licence, or at most five years from the course date.
Do I have to do Risk 1 before Risk 2?
No, the order is up to you. Both parts must be completed before you take the theory test and the driving test.
What should I bring?
Valid photo ID (BankID is not accepted) and clothes for the weather, since part of the training is outdoors. Arrive 15 minutes before the start.
I am coming by bus, how do I get the last bit?
We pick you up at the bus stop Stora Övattnet (stop B) about 15 minutes before the course starts. Bus 300 towards Kinna from Gothenburg stops there.
